Primary Care Education
Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer - it is among the ten most common cancers worldwide. In the UK alone, over 23,000 people are diagnosed each year*.
Bladder cancer is frequently diagnosed at a late stage, leading to poor outcomes for patients. Raising awareness and improving knowledge within primary care about symptoms and appropriate referral times is crucial. As part of the ABC UK Education Programme, we provide resources and learning opportunities for GPs and other primary care professionals to enhance their understanding of bladder cancer and improve survival rates for those with the disease.

BLADDER CANCER ONLINE LEARNING MODULE
This free, CPD learning module, developed in partnership with NB Medical, is designed to enhance GPs' knowledge of bladder cancer and ultimately improve early diagnosis of bladder cancer within primary care.
In this one-hour module, you will access case-study based learning on:
- The signs and symptoms of bladder cancer including specific cases of visible haematuria, non-visible haematuria and persistent UTIs.
- The epidemiology of bladder cancer, in addition to the aetiology and risk factors for bladder cancer.
- Recognising the clinical features of bladder cancer.
- How to manage these bladder cancer cases and how secondary care investigate and manage bladder cancer.
First streamed in June 2023, this one-hour webinar looks at the diagnostic challenge of bladder cancer and highlights the subtle signs that may point to its existence. It reviews the current referral criteria and the management of visible and non-visible haematuria. Relevant to anyone who ever uses urine dipsticks, this clinic will increase awareness of bladder cancer and work towards improving earlier diagnosis. Also featuring a Q&A session.
Developed by NB medical and presented by Dr Kate Digby.
