Joining a bladder cancer patient support group can give you the opportunity to talk to other patients who have already experienced a treatment or operation that you are about to have. They can understand what you are going through and tell you how they coped. The simple act of sharing can give you a feeling of empowerment and confidence that can help you overcome that initial sense of perhaps feeling scared and not knowing what to do. These groups are often a great support for your partners and families too. Many groups will also have speakers attending meetings, often medical professionals, giving the opportunity to ask questions.
If you are involved in a regional support group and would like your group to be listed here, please send details about your group to groups@actionbladdercanceruk.org
